On the Chaos side of things, I think I finally have a plan of where I want to go with my army and what my next steps are. Since I had Ahriman and a Chaos Sorcerer, I was leaning heavily towards a Tzeentch/Thousand Sons army, but I decided to pull things back a bit. I didn’t want to necessarily go straight-up Black Legion/Chaos Undivided either, so I’ve decided to go down the middle road with a warband that skews strongly towards Tzeentch, but isn’t exclusively tied to the Lord of Sorcery. To that end, my new Chaos warband is the Void Adepts, with colors as seen above. I’ll eventually get some Thousand Sons to integrate into the force, but for now I can actually build a 1000-point army with what I have (well, mostly). Here’s the list I’ve put together:
HQ: Chaos Sorcerer w/Mark of Tzeentch, Personal Icon, Warptime, Wind of Chaos – 190 pts
Elite: 6 Terminators, w/ 1 Chainfist, 1 Lightning Claw, 1 Power Fist, 3 Power Weapons, 1 Combi-flamer, 1 Combi-melta, 1 Reaper Autocannon, Icon of Tzeentch – 285 pts
Elite: Dreadnought w/ Plasma Cannon, Dreadnought CCW, Twin-linked Bolter – 105 pts
Troop: 9 Chaos Space Marines w/ 2 Meltaguns, Icon of Chaos Glory; 1 Aspiring Champion w/Power Fist – 220 pts
Troop: 9 Chaos Space Marines w/ 2 Flamers, Icon of Chaos Glory; 1 Aspiring Champion w/ Power Sword – 200 pts
It’s not perfect – I have no Rhinos yet, and I’m actually 14 marines short of having what I need for this list, but I may have a shot at getting a whole pile of unassembled Chaos Space Marines for a decent price, so that shouldn’t be an problem. Not counting the marines, I could actually get this rest of this force stripped, re-assembled, and primed within a week. I look forward to trying it out.
