It was a somewhat busy weekend, but I still managed to get in some painting and assembling done. Four of my eight Pathfinders now have basecoated armor, and I hope to get the other four done tonight or tomorrow. After that, it’s on to detailing, and then I can finish up their Devilfish. I may not make it before the end of the month, but I think I can wrap them up by the end of the first week in August. After that, I think it’s on to painting a Hammerhead. I have all three basecoated, so finishing one up should be a relatively easy task. If I can get that done, then I’ll have the following painted:
1 Commander Crisis Suit
3 Fireknife Crisis Suits
3 Stealth Suits w/ 2 Marker Drones
24 Fire Warriors
6 Gun Drones
1 Devilfish
8 Pathfinders
1 Hammerhead
Not counting upgrades, that’s roughly 940 points of models. Being able to field a completely-painted 1000 point army will be a nice milestone to hit this summer.
Assembly-wise, I got my Chaos Dreadnought taken apart in order to strip the paint from it, and I got my unpainted metal Chaos Terminators off of their old 2nd-Edition slottabases and onto new 40mm bases. The one with the Reaper Autocannon was probably the hardest to get glued, just because the gun unbalanced him, causing him to tip forward. Fun fact: a Fire Warrior is just the right height for holding up the tip of a Reaper Autocannon and keeping its holder steady.
